Biography

My name is Bob Evans (yes, like the restaurant) and I am a passionate and versatile fundraising professional who has worn many hats in my career. I have an M.A in Arts Administration from The Florida State University, plus a B.M. with an emphasis in education and performance certificate from the University of South Carolina. I started my fundraising career in front-line fundraising and quickly moved into annual and major giving, and I love to make connections between an organization’s mission and its people. As a bassoonist and contrabassoonist, I perform regularly with the South Carolina Philharmonic, Aiken Symphony, Florence Symphony, and several other orchestras in the Southeast. You can also find me singing or ringing handbells at Washington Street UMC on Sunday mornings. When I’m not working or performing, I enjoy trivia, sci-fi novels, cooking, and playing video games.

What do you love about working at Columbia College?

There is an incredible amount of history and tradition surrounding this campus. If these walls could talk, they would have almost two centuries-worth of stories to tell about Columbia College. But they don't have to, because her legacy lives in the people attached to this institution. It is an honor to work in Alumnae Hall and soak in the legacy of all who came before.
