Appearance Timeline
When available, CeCe can make public appearances for community and private parties upon request for Columbia and surrounding areas. We understand the importance of your event and strive to accommodate your schedule. Please complete the CeCe Request Form at least three (3) weeks before your event. However, please note that appearances are determined around Columbia College schedules and may be changed and canceled in case of a conflict with a Columbia College event. Each appearance may last up to one hour.
If an appearance must be canceled, Columbia College personnel should be given seven (7) days prior notice if an appearance must be canceled.
CeCe is available for appearances throughout the year. However, it is more difficult to fulfill an appearance request during academic break weeks and summer months.
Additional Appearance Requirements
Accurate directions, location, on-site contact, and on-site phone numbers must be provided.
A private and secure changing room must be provided for the mascot to change and lock belongings during the appearance. The mascot must also be supplied with water, preferably bottled.
CeCe appearances can last up to one hour unless a longer time interval has been requested for a specific event. If outdoors, a 10-minute rest break is required every 20 minutes unless one is needed sooner. If indoors, a 5-minute rest break is required every 30 minutes unless one is needed sooner. The mascot is unable to perform in severe weather. A mascot assistant will accompany the mascot at all events.
Appearance Fee
Beginning July 1, 2023, an appearance from CeCe will cost $100 per hour for organizations that are not affiliated with Columbia College and will be limited to two hours maximum.
In addition, all appearances outside of 10 miles from Columbia College that are not affiliated with Columbia College (1301 Columbia College Drive, Columbia, South Carolina 29203) will be asked to reimburse the program for mileage at a rate of $0.50 per mile.
Publicity/Marketing Restrictions
All publicity for the event, whether in advance or afterward, which mentions an appearance by a mascot or uses college marks (logos), must be approved by the Columbia College Marketing and Communications Office before use. For approval, please email JDockery@ColumbiaSC.edu.
How to Request CeCe
- Complete the CeCe Request Form. Requests should be made at least three (3) to four (4) weeks in advance and are encouraged as early as possible. Appearance requests are on a first-come, first-served basis.
- You will receive an immediate automated response email to confirm receipt of your request. This is not a confirmation of the appearance.
- You will be contacted via email regarding availability two (2) weeks before your event.
