Weather Update: Delayed Start – Thursday, January 23

Due to expected freezing conditions overnight, Columbia College will operate on a delayed start on Thursday, January 23. Campus will open and resume normal operations at 12:00 p.m.

Operations Update:

  • Classes:
    • Classes beginning before 12:00 p.m. will be delivered exclusively via e-learning. Faculty should use Canvas for instruction, and students are encouraged to check their Canvas courses for updates.
    • Classes beginning after 12:00 p.m. will be delivered in their usual format.
  • Remote Work: Employees are requested to work remotely until reporting to campus at 12:00 p.m. If employees are having difficulty getting to campus or need to request leave, they are asked to contact their supervisor directly.
  • Athletics: The women’s and men’s basketball games vs. Truett-McConnell have been postponed to Thursday, January 23. Please check gokoalas.com for details.
  • Dining Services: The Terrace Café will open at 11:00 a.m., and the dining hall will open for brunch from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and dinner from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Library: Edens Library Learning Commons will open at 12:00 p.m. As a reminder, virtual services are available via LibGuides. You can find additional details here
  • Website Update: Due to the recent, temporary website outage (that has been resolved), columbiasc.edu email addresses may have also been temporarily affected. Please verify that emails sent during this time were successfully delivered.
  • Events on Campus: The Columbia College Blood Drive originally scheduled to take place tomorrow (1/23) has been postponed. A new date will be announced soon.
