After recent and sustained growth, exciting changes are happening for the Columbia College Healthcare Administration Program. The Master of Science program was recognized in 2024 as a Best Overall MHA Program by EduMed, a leader in supporting students' pursuits of an online or hybrid education in the allied health, nursing, and medical fields. The MHA Degree program continues to be a cost-effective option to comparable programs both online and local to the Midlands. The graduate program is currently transitioning from a two-year to a one-year model to start in Fall 2024, making this program even more convenient and attainable for working professionals seeking opportunities to further their education.
Since the program’s inception, the College has seen substantial increased enrollment from the EMS community in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. As a result and as a service to the EMS community, Columbia College makes concerted efforts to accommodate them through the admissions and enrollment processes. The first cohort of Paramedics is set to graduate from the graduate program in December 2024. For Paramedics interested in being a part of our undergraduate program, they are offered 24 hours of non-equivalent credit in addition to any eligible transfer credit.
Healthcare Administration Program Chair, Dr. Carl Moore, shared, “We are delighted to be able to offer a fully-online four-year Undergraduate degree along with an online Graduate degree. The HCA Program is much more than the degree and the education itself; it is about making a real difference in the community. Our students and graduates work across various areas of healthcare and come to the college with a desire to take what they learn to improve the patient experience.”
