Columbia College is proud to celebrate Craig King, our Call Me MiSTER Site Coordinator, for being recognized as one of the “12 Black Leaders You Need to Know in South Carolina” by the Post & Courier. This prestigious honor highlights King’s unwavering dedication to mentorship, education, and community service.

As the founder of Columbia College’s Call Me MiSTER chapter, King has been instrumental in shaping the next generation of educators and advocates. His guidance extends beyond the classroom, preparing students to be leaders who teach and inspire beyond the curriculum. Weekly meetings, known as “Den Talks,” foster a safe space for students to seek advice and grow holistically as servant leaders.

King’s passion for service is deeply rooted in his personal journey. A cancer survivor and South Carolina State University alumnus, he has dedicated his life to empowering others through roles as a motivational speaker, director of teacher leadership at the Palmetto State Teachers Association, and volunteer counselor at Prisma Health’s Camp Kemo.

“My goal is to serve the people I come in contact with, whether that’s on a job that’s paying me or volunteering in the community,” King said. His leadership and mentorship continue to impact lives across South Carolina, reflecting the values instilled by his parents and supported by his church community.

Congratulations to Craig King on this well-deserved recognition. His dedication to building a brighter future through education and service inspires us all.
