Columbia College welcomed nearly 200 alumnae back to campus on March 31st and April 1st for Alumnae Weekend! The Weekend began with a 50th Reunion Luncheon honoring the Class of 1967. The Luncheon was prepared by the Alumnae Association's Special Events and Decorating Committees. The parlor welcomed back nearly 70 classmates for this special Luncheon tradition!
Friday Afternoon held a Kick-Off Cocktail Reception, in Goodall Gallery, in honor of President Beth Dinndorf and her years of service to the College. We enjoyed the B.A. Capstone Exhibition titled exiSTANCE, featuring five senior studio art majors Ethel Canty, Rebecca French, NaYoung Koh, Stephanie Merida, and Keysha Munson.
Saturday morning brought a leisurely Breakfast with the President in the Terrace Cafe lounge. Alumnae drifted to the outdoor terrace seating to enjoy the beautiful weather with classmates.
Following breakfast, various opportunities awaited alumnae. A Faculty and Staff Meet and Greet in Janet Alexander Cotter Alumnae Hall, Prospective Student Admissions Tours and Information Sessions, visiting the Surcie Shop and campus Bookstore, and the senior art exhibition, were available. The CC Marketplace was a fun addition to our annual Alumnae Weekend. Student, alumna, and local business vendors were set up throughout the Mall.
The Alumnae Day Luncheon was held in the Student Union. The Alumnae Association presented its annual awards to the following deserving alumnae for exceptional service to the College and their communities. Lucy Crumpton Gordon '61 was presented with the Distinguished Service Award. Marina Emory Fulton '09 was presented with the Outstanding Young Alumna Award. Dr. Sally Cobb Krisel '76 was presented with the Career Achievement Award. Beth Thomas Elliott '77, who could not be in attendance for the luncheon, was presented with the Wil Lou Gray Oustanding Educator Award at the campus Education Graduates Celebration. Mary-Stuart T., senior and president of the Student Government Association, presented the 2017 Class Doll to the Alumnae Association. Dressed in the likeness of the 2017 Savory Award Recipient, Elizabeth Howe, the doll is now part of the permanent collection housed in the parlor of Janet Alexander Cotter Alumnae Hall.
During the luncheon, the 2017 - 2019 Executive Officers of the Alumnae Association were elected. The Honorable Kaymani Daniels West '97 was inducted as the new Columbia College Alumnae Association President.

Following the luncheon, classmates gathered on the Green for class photos, broke into groups for class meetings, and attended the A "Great Night for Singing" performance in Cottingham Theater.
