Public Relations students from Columbia College met with USC’s student chapter of the Public Relations Society of America March 22.

Some 50 students gathered at USC’s School of Journalism to hear a presentation by Jane Dvorak, PRSA's 2017 national chair. “Invest in yourself. Be a life-long learner. A career is a journey, and it takes time to reach your sweet spot," Dvorak told the students. Dvorak is the owner of JKD! & Co., a public relations and public speaking firm in Lakewood, Colorado.

The students were accompanied by Prof. Emily S. Ward, Columbia College public relations program coordinator, S.C.PRSA Midlands chapter professional development chair, and, like Dvorak, owner of her own PR consulting firm.

Columbia College has recently announced it will offer a major in Public Relations, in addition to its current PR minor, beginning with the fall 2017 semester.
