Columbia College student receives prestigious award at the SC Early Childhood Association Conference

Columbia, SC – Columbia College student Callie Goodwin ’18 and faculty member Dr. Jim Lane presented at the 62nd annual South Carolina Early Childhood Association (SCECA) Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC, January 19-21, 2017.

Goodwin presented a session titled “Technology in Childcare” and Dr. Lane presented on “Eco-Explorations for the Primary Classroom”.

"I enjoy sharing my expertise with educators to help them perform with care in the classroom and give them the tools to build innovative centers," said Goodwin, a child and family studies major.

The SCECA conference gives educators from around the state the tools and information they need to continue bringing young children the very best care and education possible.

During the state-wide conference, Callie Goodwin was awarded the prestigious Noelle Patrick McInerney Student Award and Columbia College’s SCECA student chapter was awarded a $400 travel grant.
