Diana Amos, soprano, is Assistant Professor of Voice and Musical Theater at Columbia College. She has performed leading roles on the stages of over thirty-five European opera companies, including the Berlin State Opera, the Semper Opera in Dresden, the Cologne Opera, the Staatsoper in Hannover, and Luxembourg. After joining the Bielefeld Theater in Germany, Dr. Amos received the North Rhein Westphalia Young Artist Award in Duesseldorf. She sang the role of Zemire in Gretry's Zemire and Azor with the Houston Grand Opera and was the soprano soloist in Brahms' "German Requiem" with the South Carolina Philharmonic. Her appearences as featured soloist include concerts with the Cologne Radio Orchestra, North West German Philharmonic, Bielefeld Philharmonic, and the Hannover Johann Strauss Orchestra. Dr. Amos recently performed the role of Lucy in Menotti's The Telephone with Donald Portnoy, conductor, at the Koger Center in Columbia , SC, Piccolo Spoleto, and in Brevard, NC. She received a B.M. degree in voice from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio, a performance diploma from the Hochschule fuer Musik in Cologne, Germany, a M.M. degree from the University of South Carolina, and a D.M.A. degree from the University of South Carolina.
